CASA seeks volunteers for children

Yolo County CASA will hold volunteer orientations every Thursday at noon and on the last Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. in its offices at 724 Main St., Suite 102, in Woodland.

CASA trains, screens and supports volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the foster care system. After 30 hours of training and a background screening, volunteers are appointed by the juvenile dependency court judge to advocate for a child in the foster-care system.

The next training session will begin Aug. 17 and end Sept. 10. To reserve a space, call 530-661-4200 or email [email protected] In addition, the group will hold an information session at 6 p.m. Monday, July 27, in the small conference room at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis.
