Check out the Threshold Choir on Saturday

By From page A3 | January 24, 2013

The Threshold Choir of Davis invites interested singers who would like to learn more about the program to an introductory meeting at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Fireside Room of Davis Community Church, 412 C St.

The choir honors the ancient tradition of women singing at life’s thresholds of serious illness or death. In groups of two to four, at bedside, choir members sing gentle songs from a variety of traditions to soothe, comfort, uplift and bring peace. Songs include simple harmonies, lullabies, rounds and chants.

The choir is not associated with any church or religious group. They sing when invited and come as often as requested to private homes, hospices, care facilities and hospitals. There is no charge.
