The Davis Food Co-op, 620 G St. in downtown Davis, has donated $19,258 to Davis Community Meals. The donation is from funds raised as part of the 27th annual Christmas Eve Holiday Meal.

Through the donations of Co-op suppliers, area businesses, Co-op shoppers and guests, the 2012 event served more than 600 people, as well as collecting donations to feed the hungry. Volunteers donated 160 hours of labor on the day of the meal, according to a news release, and Co-op staff spent two months putting it all together.
