The Davis Food Co-op announces that grant applications for the Davis Cooperative Community Fund  must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, April 5.

The fund, supported by donations from Co-op shoppers and members with matching funds from the Davis Food Co-op and the Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation, offers small annual grants to qualifying nonprofits or cooperatives.

The fund has awarded more than $14,000 in grants to organizations based in Davis or serving Yolo County, and dedicated to working on issues in agriculture, food and hunger, community and social problems or the environment. In past years, grants have ranged from $80 to $400 per organization.

Details on eligibility for grants as well as actual applications are available at http://davisfood.coop/sustainability/communityfund/communityfund_app or in person at the Co-op, 620 G St.
