Community forum examines immigration reform

A discussion about what’s in store for federal comprehensive immigration reform is planned from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Woodland Community College. The discussion, which is free and open to the public, will take place in Room 800 at the college, 2300 E. Gibson Road.

Invited speakers are Kevin Johnson, dean of the UC Davis School of Law; Carlos Alcala, chairman of the California Chicano Latino Caucus; and Jon Tran of the Southeast Asia Resource Action Center. Students also will participate.

The event is being organized by Woodland Community College’s Ethnic Studies Cross Cultural Series and the Ethnic Studies Student Organization.
