The UC Davis Middle East/South Asia Studies Program presents a two-day Arab Studies Conference from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 2 and 3, in Ballroom A of the Activities and Recreation Center on campus.
Speakers on Friday, May 2, will focus on “Subjectivity and Its Discontents,” while the lineup on Saturday, May 3, will look at “Decolonization and Its Discontents.” For a full lineup of speakers, go online to http://mesa.ucdavis.edu/events/arab-studies-conference.
In addition, on Thursday, May 1, from 2 to 5 p.m., a special roundtable on South Asia will look at “Religion and its Discontents” in the Andrews Conference Room of the Social Science and Humanities Building. The panelists include international and U.S.-based scholars on religion, history and economics in South Asia.
