California native plants are a great choice for the “new front yard” that features low-water, easy-care plantings. All are welcome to get a closer look at what their garden could look like during a tour of the Mary Wattis Brown Garden of Native Plants at 10 a.m. Saturday at the UC Davis Arboretum.
Participants will meet at the Alumni & Visitors Center on the UCD campus. Free parking is available in the parking structure on Old Davis Road across from the Mondavi Center.
Native plants will be featured at the Friends of the Arboretum’s plant sale on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Arboretum Teaching Nursery on Garrod Drive. Also featured will be a large selection of Arboretum All-Stars and other regionally appropriate plants.
Friends of the Arboretum will receive 10 percent off their purchases; members may join at any time.
