Cuddle up with a blanket at Project Linus meeting

By From page A4 | March 05, 2014

Happiness is a warm blanket, made with love! If you enjoy quilting, knitting or sewing, come to Project Linus’ gathering from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the Davis Senior Center, 646 A St.

Volunteers make blankets for children in the community who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need. Those who attend the March 12 session will sew Project Linus labels on handmade blankets that are given each month to organizations in Yolo County that serve children in need. A record total of 1,490 blankets were made and donated by the group in year 2013.

New fabrics and yarn are available each month for pickup and may be taken home to complete a blanket. Finished blankets may be brought to the next monthly gathering or dropped off at Diane McGee’s house.

For drop-off location questions, fabric or yarn donations or for more information, contact McGee at [email protected] or 530-753-3436.
