The Davis Art Center is offering a six-week creative writing class for girls ages 13-18 from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, starting Feb. 11. The class will offer a positive, supportive space for girls who love reading and writing and are interested in discovering and developing their individual voices.

Participants will use short stories by a diverse range of contemporary female writers as jumping-off points for their own writing sessions. Each student will pick her best writing to include in a class-produced literary magazine.

Elise Winn Pollard, who earned her master’s degree in creative writing from UC Davis, will teach the class.

The fee is $95 for Art Center members and $105 for the general public. To enroll, stop by the Art Center at 1919 F St., call 530-756-4100 or register online at www.davisartcenter.org. Students must be registered at least two weeks before the first class session.
