Davis Ace will host two family-friendly events later this month:

* Paint a pot: Bring your kids to paint their very own pot and then plant a seedling to take home and watch it grow. This free event runs from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in the garden department, 830 Fourth St.

* Spring canning and great gifts for Mom: Ann M. Evans, award-winning author of “The Davis Farmers Market Cookbook” is back to discuss the joys of spring canning. Her free talk will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in the housewares department, 240 G St.

For more information on either event, call 530-758-8000.
