Davis Baha’i gathering focuses on believers in Iran

By From page A3 | December 26, 2013

Baha’is of Davis will remember their fellow believers who are being persecuted in Iran and express appreciation for the continuing concern of the U.S. government during its weekly gathering for prayers and devotions on Friday. For information about the time and location, call or email the Davis Baha’i Community at 530-792-7175 or [email protected].

Baha’is face intense economic and social pressure in Iran, including denial of jobs and higher education, harassment of school children and desecration of cemeteries. A resolution approved Dec. 20 by the U.S. Senate condemns Iran’s state-sponsored persecution of its Baha’i minority and also calls on the Iranian government to immediately release all religious prisoners, including 116 Baha’is.
