By From page A3 | January 09, 2014

Did you know there are more than 100 causes for peripheral neuropathy? Diabetes accounts for about one-third, but other causes include heredity, alcoholism, radiation, toxic chemical exposure, HIV, too much vitamin B6, gluten intolerance and some medications.

Common symptoms affecting feet and hands are numbness, extreme sensitivity to touch, tingling, burning, shooting pains and constriction.

All are invited to attend the next meeting of the Davis Neuropathy Group from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Davis Senior Center, 646 A St. For more information, call Mary Sprifke at 530-756-5102 or Retta Gilbert at 530-747-0186.
