Davis reception planned for Ortiz

By From page A3 | April 27, 2014

Local residents can meet Jesse Ortiz, a candidate for Yolo County superintendent of schools, at a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at 1102 Kent Drive in Davis.

This event, at the home of Don and Julie Saylor, will be hosted by former Davis school board members Jim Provenza, Don Saylor and Helen Thomson. Suggested donations of $35 to $100 are requested.

Guests will have an opportunity talk with Ortiz about his initiatives providing preschool for all children, ensuring that all third-graders are able to read at or above grade level, encouraging parent-to-school engagement and creating college partnerships.
