Dementia caregivers invited to workshop

A workshop covering legal and financial issues in planning care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia will run from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Woodland Community & Senior Center, 2001 East St. in Woodland.

The guest speaker will be attorney Dustin MacFarlane, who will discuss making legal plans that fit your needs, legal documents you’ll need and what they mean for all of you, how to find legal and financial assistance, practical strategies for making a long-term plan of care, tax deductions and credits and government programs that can help pay for care.

Co-sponsors include the Alzheimer’s Association, Woodland Healthcare/Yolo Adult Day Health Center and the Caregiver Support Program, Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center and Woodland Community and Senior Center.
