The UC Davis Campus Book Project–Davis High School Collaborative invites the public to attend an evening with Nathalie Minya and a viewing of selections of Nicholas Kristoff’s “Half the Sky” documentary from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. The event, which is sponsored by the DHS Race and Social Justice class, will take place at the Brunelle Performance Hall, 315 W. 14th St.

Attendees will learn about women’s economic empowerment in Africa, where the former victims of oppression are ushering in a new economic order.

A question-and-answer session facilitated by Nicelma King will follow the program.
