By From page A2 | January 17, 2013

A Don’t Light Tonight advisory has been declared for Davis on Thursday, and residents are asked to refrain from burning wood.

Wood smoke has serious health impacts, especially for children, the elderly and those with lung ailments, an air district spokesman said. Certain meteorological conditions that typically lead to increased air pollution from wood smoke are forecast, triggering the advisory. For more information, visit ysaqmd.org/wood.
