Dutch Bros. supports ALS research Friday

Dutch Bros. Coffee stores throughout the Sacramento area — including three in Davis and Woodland — will donate all proceeds from sales Friday to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which also is fighting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Find Dutch Bros. Coffee at 980 W. Olive Drive in Davis, and at 1332 E. Main St. and 7 W. Main St. in Woodland.

The event kicks off ALS Awareness Month and is held annually in honor of company co-founder Dane Boersma, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2005 and died in late 2009. On MDA Day, all employees wear shirts with the slogan “Drink One for Dane.”

Last year, Dutch Bros. contributed $174,000 to MDA for research and family services.
