The November ballot offers several opportunities to support public education — Proposition 30, Proposition 38 and Measure E, the Davis parcel tax. Understanding what each of these measures funds and how they interrelate is essential to making an informed voting decision, and local folks are stepping up to help out.
All are invited to join Delaine Eastin, Susan Lovenburg and Jacqueline “Jake” Clemens for an informal discussion about how Propositions 30, 38 and Measure E interrelate on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at 4228 Dogwood Place in Davis. Wine, appetizers and information will be served.
This event is offered in association with Educate Our State (www.educateourstate.org) a grassroots, parent-led, statewide campaign uniting the voices of Californians in support of high-quality, K-12 public education and to demand real, systemic change.
Educate Our State believes parents, together with community leaders, can organize, mobilize and put pressure on all stakeholders to work together and agree on fundamental changes that put children’s achievement and success first.
