Embroiderers Guild will visit UC Davis Design Museum

The Valley Oak Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis. From there, the group will car-pool to the Design Museum, in Cruess Hall on the UC Davis campus.

The current show is called “Structures, Signifiers and Society: People and Textiles.” It showcases global ethnographic and contemporary textiles as representations of ingenuity, identity and cultures around the world.

The museum, normally open only from noon to 4 p.m. is opening that morning especially for the Embroiderers Guild. Admission is free.
