Embroiderers will tie quilts for shelter

The Valley Oak Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. Members and guests will be tying quilts for the Wallace-Vannucci shelter for abused women and their children.

There will be quilts ready to tie, and materials and instruction will be provided. Participants are asked to bring scissors and needles big enough to hold perle cotton.
