Elizabeth Emken, a candidate for the California 7th Congressional District, will address the Davis College Republicans at 7 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 16, in 147 Olson Hall on the UC Davis campus.

Her address will launch the campus club’s #Victory2014 Speaker Series, which will bring candidates, officeholders and party leaders to Davis throughout the school year leading up to the June primary.

Emken, who ran for U.S. Senate in 2012, is challenging freshman Rep. Ami Bera, D-Elk Grove. The race is expected to be one of the most competitive and expensive House races in California.

Prior to her campaign for the Senate, Emken worked in management, financial analysis and corporate operations at IBM. She is a 1984 graduate of UCLA with degrees in political science and economics.
