Fair housing issues covered at conference

Legal Services of Northern California, with support from Yolo County Housing and the cities of Davis and Woodland, will hold a free fair housing workshop from 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Thursday.

Held at the offices of Yolo County Housing, 147 W. Main St. in Woodland, the conference will cover fair housing basics, reasonable accommodations and modifications in rental housing, resources for tenants who hoard, immigration status issues, the HUD rule on equal access to housing in HUD programs regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, and protections for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.

Speakers include representatives from the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and attorneys who are experts in this field. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided.
