Flag retirement ceremony set Saturday

“Give us your torn, tattered, worn and faded American flags,” says Yolo County veterans service officer Billy Wagster, “and we will ensure that the proper pomp and ceremony is performed to honor the retirement of these grand symbols of our heritage.”

The Yolo County Veterans Coalition will host an American flag retirement ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday at the West Plainfield Fire Station, 24901 County Road 95 west of Davis.

Until then, worn, tattered and faded flags may be dropped off at Davis Ace, 240 G St., or the Veterans Service Office at 120 W. Main St., Suite A, in Woodland.

For more information, call Wagster at 530-406-4850.
