Former resident returns as an author

Former Davis resident Tom Hoskins returns to town at 6 p.m. Tuesday to discuss his book, “When I Was a Kid,” at The Avid Reader, 617 Second St.

“It’s designed to encourage mentors of all ages to encourage our youth,” said Hoskins, 64, of his semi-autobiographical book. “I attempt to reverse the message most people mean when they say ‘When I was a kid.’ I propose that kids today have an uphill battle trying to reach adulthood without much damage.”

Hoskins lived in Davis from 1956 to 1962 and now resides in Mount Shasta.
