Free workshop tackles the holiday blues

By From page A8 | November 08, 2012

Holidays can bring with them mixed emotions such as nostalgic feelings, stress from visiting family or the stress of having tighter budget. Learn how to identify the stressors of the holidays at a free “Holiday Blues” workshop.

The city of Davis Child Care Services Office will host the workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, with the help of Victor Community Services. David Hafter, a marriage and family therapist from Victor, will offer tips on how to manage feelings during the holiday season as well as how to access community resources. Participants will learn to identify real depression from “the blues.”

The class will meet in the Game Room at the Veterans’ Memorial Center, 203 E. 14th St. in Davis. To register, call Libby Wolf at 530-747-8236. For information on additional workshops or classes, visit the Parent & Child Care Professional Event Calendar at http://administrative-services.cityofdavis.org/parent-child-care-professional-event-calendar.
