French, Spanish, art featured at Logos Books

Summer doesn’t mean a slowdown in events at Logos Books, 513 Second St. in downtown Davis. July features several activities at the second-hand bookstore that is operated as a nonprofit to benefit several international charities.

* La Table Française meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.; the next meeting is Wednesday, July 10. For topic information, visit logosbooks.wordpress.com.

* The Second FridayArtAbout will include a reception in honor of local artists

* El Círculo Español meets on the third Monday of the month from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.; the next meeting is Monday, July 15. For topic information, visit logosbooks.wordpress.com.

Watercolors, photography, oil paintings and acrylic paintings by Ann Privateer and Mary Anne Kirsch will be on view all summer at the store. A reception in their honor is planned for the Second Friday ArtAbout on Friday, Aug. 9, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
