Friends of North Pond get organized Sunday

By From page A4 | February 05, 2014

Friends of North Davis Ponds — the Julie Partansky Pond and the Northstar Park Pond — will hold their first meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday. The group will meet near the parking lot at the Northstar Pond, 3500 Anderson Road. In case of rain, meet at the Tandem Properties conference room.

The group is open to anyone who enjoys the ponds, and all are welcome to bring ideas of what they would like to have happen. An email list and a Facebook page will be developed to alert people to activities and display photos. For more information, email Jean Jackman at [email protected].

Also scheduled is a bird count on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the same location. Ed Whisler, a consulting wildlife biologist who had a hand in developing the North Area Pond as a wildlife habitat, will conduct the count. Beginners are welcome; bring binoculars if you have them.

For more information, email Whisler at [email protected].
