Girls who volunteer may apply for grant

By From page A3 | November 26, 2013

Girls ages 14 to 17 who volunteer in their community or school are eligible to apply for the Violet Richardson Award, an annual $1,000 grant given by Soroptimist International of Davis.
It’s what you do that counts:
* Are your activities conducted on a volunteer basis?
* Are you caring, compassionate, creative and committed to making the world a better place?
* Have you demonstrated initiative in identifying a specific problem and trying to solve it?
* Have you had a significant and noteworthy accomplishment as a volunteer?
If you can answer yes to these questions and would like to apply, download an application from the SI Davis website. Go to http://www.sidavis.org/awards, and download the Violet Richardson application pdf. Priority goes to girls whose work focuses on a specific project. Please provide photos, news clippings and other supporting documents.
For more information, contact Wendy Weitzel at [email protected]. The deadline is Dec. 1.
