Grand jury alumni organization to meet

By
From page A5 | February 22, 2013 |

The Yolo chapter of the California Grand Jurors’ Association will meet at 5 p.m.Tuesday at Mojo’s, 428 First St. in Woodland.

All county residents who have served on a grand jury, whether in Yolo County or elsewhere, are invited to attend.

The Yolo chapter is in the early stages of organization. The February meeting will largely be devoted to the discussion of potential projects and planning for outreach to prospective grand jurors.

The Yolo chapter undertakes activities within Yolo County similar to chapters around the state. It expects to investigate, among other things, to what extent various government offices have implemented Yolo County grand jury recommendations; to support the current grand jury; and to assist with recruitment of future grand jurors. Opportunities for participation in the California State Grand Jurors’ Association also may be available. See www.cgja.org for more information.

Contact Barbara Sommer, chapter president, at [email protected] or 530-756-7553.
