Yolo County UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will teach techniques for pruning grapes at a free workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Woodland Community College Greenhouse Orchard Area, 2300 E. Gibson Road in Woodland.

Both spur and cane grape pruning techniques will be demonstrated, and participants can learn how to start their own grape vines from the instructors’ cuttings. Other winter and spring grape-growing tips will be discussed.

In case of rain, the class will take place in the college greenhouse.
