After a one-year absence, International House, Davis, is bringing back its foreign affairs class, Great Decisions, in January.

Retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer Rick Becker will lead eight weekly two-hour sessions on challenging foreign affairs problems. The group will be limited to 25, so early enrollment is advised. Call 530-753-5007 to save a space.

The cost is $25 for I-House members, $50 for nonmembers. This fee includes the cost of the briefing book that contains background material for all eight topics.

The topics will cover issues vital to Turkey, China, Israel, extremism in Africa, energy independence, U.S. trade policy, U.S. defense and climate change/food policy.

The class will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 29-March 26, with no class on March 12.
