Habitat hosts annual Indian dinner fundraiser
Habitat for Humanity Yolo County will present its annual Indian Dinner and Silent Auction at 6 p.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B St. in Davis.
The evening will begin with a reception featuring traditional Indian hors d’oeuvres and a no-host bar with wines from Rominger West Winery and beer from Sudwerk Brewery. Yolo Mambo will entertain diners with a wide selection of music.
Following the reception, participants will be served a three-course dinner featuring lentil soup and naan; a main course of curried chicken, rice and seasonal vegetables; and rice pudding and cardamom tea.
The evening will end with a live dessert auction featuring confectionary creations from bakeries around the county. This year’s event is sponsored by Umpqua Bank with support from Porter Scott Attorneys, Rominger West Winery, Sudwerk Brewery, Bella Vie Real Estate and UC Davis Chancellor Emeritus Larry Vanderhoef.
