Hear about Jews and our national pastime

By From page A4 | February 21, 2014

Two Jewish pitchers have won the Cy Young Award. One is Sandy Koufax. Can you name the other?

This is just one Jewish baseball fact that will be revealed in — what else? — “Jews and Baseball,” a presentation by Barbara Anderson, a baseball aficionado, on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Social Hall of Congregation Bet Haverim, 1715 Anderson Road in Davis.

Jews have been a part of Major League Baseball from its earliest days, and they continue to figure prominently as players, owners, agents and union leaders. The program, presented by the Adult Education Committee, is free and open to the public.

For more information, call the Congregation Bet Haverim office at 530-758-0842 or Steve Cohen at 530-219-9219.
