Hear about Team Blend’s most recent trip on Tuesday

By From page A5 | September 16, 2012

Team Blend, a group of physics students from Da Vinci Charter Academy, traveled to Nicaragua over the summer where they built pedal-powered electrical generators in the rural village of Sabana Grande.

The students will share their experiences in Nicaragua with the public at a presentation from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at International House, Davis, 10 College Park.

Team Blend previously built pedal-powered blenders for the village — thus the team name — and continues to blend cultures, technologies and ways of creating renewable energy with each trip.

In addition to the presentation on their most recent trip, the students also will share their plans for the coming year.
