The Davis Food Co-op asks the public to help the Short-Term Emergency Aid Committee build “Fort Can-Do” out of donated packaged food, which will fill the community pantry used to feed people in need.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s a can of tuna or a case of corn flakes,” says Susan Simon of STEAC. “Your donation makes a difference to the people we help, and it’s really appreciated.”
Co-op suppliers are eager to help. Crofter’s Organic has donated 15 cases of jam “to help build a good pantry foundation.”
Community donations may be dropped off at the Co-op, 620 G St., between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15. For more information, contact Julie Cross at email@example.com or 530-758-2667.
