By From page A3 | November 18, 2012

An eight-week support group runs from 6 to 7:20 p.m. beginning Wednesday. The group, titled “Emotions and the Holidays,” is open to adult women who have experienced domestic and/or sexual violence as a child or adult and will be offered at Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center, 175 Walnut St. in Woodland.

Registration and orientation are required and will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Meetings will run on consecutive Wednesdays through Jan. 9.

The group will explore how women can learn to identify and manage emotions that result from expectations and stress during the holidays. Discussions also will include methods for reducing the emotional impact of domestic and sexual violence to prevent further harm and how to choose healing and hope through the holidays and into the future.
