Home winemaker entries sought for 2012 Yolo County Fair
The organizers of the 11th annual Yolo County Fair amateur winemaker competition are seeking entries for the Aug. 17-21 event.
Entry forms are due to the fair offices at 1125 East St. in Woodland by Friday. Entry forms can be found on the fair’s website, www.yolocountyfair.com, or by calling the fair office at (530) 402-2222.
The wine entries need to be at the fair office by Friday, Aug. 10. Each entry must include two bottles of the varietal entered, with varietal type and entrant’s name clearly marked. Judging will take place Aug. 14.
Winemakers can enter wines in the following categories: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Other White, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Other Red.
