Hotel/conference center info meeting set

By From page A5 | April 24, 2014

Community members are invited to an informational open house on the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center proposed for Olive Drive and Richards Boulevard near downtown Davis. The meeting will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the University Park Inn & Suites Conference Room, 1111 Richards Blvd.

Hotelier Ashok Patel will offer an update on the project and refreshments will be provided.

Patel proposes to replace the existing 45-room University Park Inn & Suites with a 135-room hotel and conference center, designed to host both university and community events. He predicts the project will generate at least $500,000 in hotel transient occupancy taxes, property and sales taxes.
