Members of the public who might be interested in taking a Portuguese class are invited to International House on Thursday, Aug. 28. A gathering will be held in the I-House lounge, 10 College Park, from 5 to 6 p.m. to see how many people might be interested in supporting a Portuguese language class.

Nathalia Pastor (530-665-9341) will be the host. All interested are invited to drop by and say hello.

International House offers seven English conversation classes a week and one English writing class, plus two French classes, two Spanish classes and German, Italian, Sanskrit, Korean and Japanese classes.

I-House is open to the public; you need not be a student to attend these classes.

Additionally, an Arabic cooking class will be offered Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the kitchen, with dinner in the lounge. The cost is $10 for members and non-members. For more information, call 530-753-5007.
