Join Sierra Club for morning walks

By From page A9 | December 04, 2013

The Sierra Club hosts morning walks in Davis on Tuesdays and Thursdays year-round. The group meets at 7 a.m. at Peet’s Coffee & Tea at The Marketplace at Covell Boulevard and Sycamore Lane.

The walking distance is about 4.5 miles in 90 minutes’ time, with return to Peet’s at about 8:30 a.m. All are welcome. Rain cancels.

Sightings of wild turkeys, geese, guinea fowl, raptors, coyotes, jackrabbits and other wild visitors are common as the group walks on Davis greenbelts, past ponds, fields, ditches, dirt paths and gardens; through Village Homes; and on the UC Davis campus.
