Inspired by artist Judith Lowry, children may create their own family history book from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at The Pence Gallery, 212 D St.

Lowry will read from her children’s book “Home to Medicine Mountain,” about the experience Lowry’s father and uncle had as young boys who ran away from Indian boarding school and returned home to attend the Bear Dance.

Cost is $4 for members and $6 for nonmembers. RSVP by Friday, Jan. 18, to  530-758-3370.
