On Monday, June 16, the Linux Users’ Group of Davis will host a talk by Case Talbot, developer at Smashwords Inc., a Los Gatos-based ebook publishing service. She will discuss “Go,” a new programming language created by Google, envisioned as a modern alternative to C++ and Java, but also popular with users of Ruby and Python.

The meeting, which is free and open to the public, will run from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis. For details, visit www.lugod.org, email pr@lugod.org or call Bill Kendrick at 530-902-7416.
