Local residents who are learning English as a second language are invited to attend a weekly class at International House, 10 College Park in Davis, at 5 p.m. Sundays. The instructors are Karen Vraa and Miriam Mariela Mascareno.

“We offer 20 language classes per week, including eight English classes,” said Elisabeth Sherwin, executive director of I-House. “This small class provides tutoring for those learning English as a second language.”

Membership costs $20 a year for students or $40 for community members. Membership includes access to all language classes from French to Sanskrit and entry to dance classes including tango, salsa and zumba.
