Yolo County Master Gardeners will lead a backyard and worm composting workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 23, at Woodland Community College, 2300 E. Gibson Road in Woodland.

“Come and learn how to turn your garden and lawn waste into a valuable soil amendment, and discover how red wiggler worms can compost all your kitchen vegetable scraps,” a news release said.

Woodland residents can receive a free compost bin and a free kitchen food scrap bucket from the city of Woodland’s Recycling Program.

The workshop is free and open to the public. For more information, call 666-8143 or visit ceyolo.ucdavis.edu.
