Lemonade for Jimmie set Saturday

By June 2, 2011

Two Davis children are turning lemons into lemonade this weekend, literally, as they help their uncle fight cancer.

Hayley Sue and James Benson will host “Lemonade for Jimmie” on Saturday to help Jimmie Gyuro and his family with medical and living expenses while he undergoes treatment.

“We’re really trying to help save his life,” says Hayley Sue, who considers her uncle “a lot of fun.”

Gyuro is the musical talent behind the family-produced iSeeDavis.com, a local feature news website. His sister, Cheri, is the website’s co-host. He also owns his own children’s rock band, Mr. Mocos.

The fundraiser will feature lemonade, treats from Pluto’s, pizza from Uncle Vito’s, a silent auction and live entertainment by Music Matt. It will take place all day Saturday on the Davis Art Center outdoor stage, 1919 F St. If it rains, the event will move indoors to the Hallmark Inn, 110 F St. in downtown Davis.

For more information, call Cheri Benson at (831) 917-1180.
