Li will present her book at Davis store

Yiyun Li, who teaches in the English department at UC Davis, will present her new books at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, at The Avid Reader, 617 Second St. in downtown Davis.

Her free talk is open to the public will be followed by a question-and-answer period and a book-signing.

A profound mystery is at the heart of Li’s “Kinder Than Solitude.” Moving back and forth in time between America today and China in the 1990s, the novel follows the lives of three people whose are changed by a murder one of them may have committed.

Li unfolds this remarkable story, even as she explores the impact of personality and the past on the shape of a person’s present and future.
