Linux users to hear about search engine

By
From page A4 | September 11, 2013 |

The Linux Users’ Group of Davis will host a presentation by Greg Lindahl, founder and chief technical officer of the search engine “blekko” (www.blekko.com).

Is it possible to build a new search engine from scratch?  This talk explains how blekko did it — a sordid tale involving a lot of venture capital, open source and Perl.

The presentation, which is free and open to the public, is from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis. For details, visit www.lugod.org, email pr@lugod.org or call Bill Kendrick at 530-902-7416.
