Need a haircut? Want to help those devastated by Hurricane Sandy?
Barbers and hair stylists from several local shops will gather Saturday and Sunday at Lasting Impressions in downtown Davis to give haircuts to all comers for a mere $20.
All proceeds will be distributed to the people of New Jersey who need rebuilding supplies such as chain saws, wheelbarrows, fence boards, gas cans and other items to reclaim their homes from the storm’s damage.
The fundraiser will run from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lasting Impressions, 632 Fourth St. Cash donations from those not in need of haircuts also will be accepted with gratitude.
“Communications from New Jersey indicate that the efforts of FEMA, the American Red Cross and other groups are not yet sufficient to meet the immediate needs of the residents,” a news release said.
