Model jets take to the air

From page A3 | June 06, 2014 |

Cue the “Top Gun” music. Sabers and MiGs, Phantoms and Falcons … the skies over Davis will be filled with the thunder of model jets as the Woodland Davis Aeromodelers hold their annual Radio Control Jet meet this weekend.

Radio-controlled turbine and electric-powered jet model aircraft as long as 10 feet and flying at speeds up to 200 mph will dance through the skies. The main event runs Friday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. to sundown, at the Davis model aircraft complex on County Road 29, which can be accessed from either County Road 102 from the west or and County Road 105 from the east.

Bring sunscreen and some shade with you, as the weather is going to be great for flying and spectating. For more information, visit www.wdarc.org.
