Karen Levy of Davis will present her book, “My Father’s Garden,” at a reading at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, in the Social Hall at Congregation Bet Haverim, 1715 Anderson Road in Davis. She’ll also be available to sign copies.
The book is the story of a young girl who comes of age in two languages on two shores and between warring parents. She struggles to find her voice, torn between her native Israel and the United States.
Is she more Israeli or American? How will she know when she has arrived home? She chooses to slowly transplant bits of her father’s garden on American soil.
Admission is free.
